ABOUTLes Liaisons Dangereuses is a classic 18th century novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. I was tasked with creating a book cover that expresses the book’s themes and setting the book’s type in a way that was readable and organized.

SOLUTIONCreating a book cover design that takes inspiration from the book’s Ancien Régime setting, the cover features 18th-century fashion plate artwork to capture the story’s atmosphere and character dynamics. The cover design features ripped paper textures evoke the novel’s epistolary format, as well as the violence and cruelty within the narrative. The typesetting uses classic fonts and running heads to keep text neat and organized.
